Projects
NZPHA undertakes a range of projects in its capacity as the national body representing recreational pig hunters.
The following examples are just a few of our recent achievments.
- The NZPHA have been a major stakeholder in influencing the introduction of legal tracking collars.
- The NZPHA represented all pig hunters at the Environment Court to have sodium nitrate outlawed as a means of eradicating feral pigs.
- The NZPHA has representation on the Game Animal Council and has worked to reclassify pigs from a pest to that of a recognised game animal.
- The NZPHA is actively involved with administering the Animal Welfare Amendment Act as it relates to pig hunting.
