A keen hunter from an early age, Nick has always had a passion for gathering and processing his own kai.
Also seeing all wild game, as a valuable resource and our oceans as a food basket and both something to be taken care of.
Current President of the Peninsula Pig hunting club for the last 5years, Nick has been doing what he can to improve and inform the club in our region.
Hunting, camping, diving and spearfishing are his main pastimes alongside riding his Classic Honda motorcycles.
He is also a keen promotor for Conservation of our native birds in NZ.

My name is Glenn MacPherson. I am past President of the Te Kuiti Pig Hunting Club and a current councilor on the New Zealand Game Animal Council.

I was born in Dannevirke in 1978 but grew up mainly in the Tokoroa area on dairy farms. I currently live in Leamington with my wife Vanessa and 3 kids Macy, Hadlee and Jossy.

I am really keen on hunting, fishing and all other outdoor recreation. I’m big on getting my kids out on the hill and them having an appreciation of where their food comes. I would love to see more families with kids joining our sport. I believe they are the future of keeping all our clubs running. Pig hunting teaches young kids patience, respect, resilience and work ethic. These four qualities are what many employees want to see in their workers.
As a young fella I worked at Forest Land Timber Products then moved into the Education sector where I have remained for the last 20 years.

Former member of and now contractor to the New Zealand Game Animal Council. BSc in Zoology and 19 years working experience in all aspects of hunting and wild animal management, conservation biology, policy formulation, and governance; range of NGO memberships relevant to game animals and hunting; currently involved in research projects on wapiti, tahr and whitetail deer; member of 3 govt committees and carried out 3 public consultation processes on the management of game animals; current and extensive knowledge and experience of recreational and commercial hunting, deer farming, hunting-related tourism

Steve, as Past President of the Te Kuiti Pig Hunting Club (2000 to 2004), now Life Member, has given considerable time to supporting Pig Hunting. Having also been involved in judging competitions since 2001 was a founding member of the Ridgeline Judging System. Steve was invited by the NZ government to represent pig hunters at a 1080 Hui in Kaikoura in 2005. After 20yrs managing dry stock farms, trustee and past President of the Oparau Station Trust; Steve and wife Marilyn are now directors of their own Septic Tank cleaning business. Steve was an inaugural member and past councillor of the NZ Game Animal Council (2014-2024).

I wear many hats but am currently the editor of NZ Hunter Magazine, editor of Fish & Game Magazine, Chairperson of the New Zealand Tahr Foundation and a passionate lifelong pig hunter.

The son of a mad pig hunter, Terry Care, we’ve been involved in the Te Kuiti Pig Hunting Club as long as I can remember. To this day I pig hunt nearly every week with my father, mother, brother, wife and friends. I now live in Maihiihi with my wife, a Labrador and currently two pig dogs. We’re usually the retirement village for our family team of pig dogs.

I’m a fierce supporter of pig hunting with dogs. Having had experience across all hunting sectors in New Zealand, and a large passion for public land big game hunting, I’m often disappointed in the perception of pig hunters within New Zealand. I love the time spent behind dogs, I love the delicious wild meat that comes of it, I love the camaraderie and friendships. I joined the NZPHA association to help in any way I can and to make sure the truth and value of our way of life is well communicated. I thank all of those who have poured thousands of hours into the association before me.

Zeke is Taranaki born and breed growing up in North Taranaki. He has a few acres of his own with his wife and young family. Zeke is a sparky by trade and loves getting out hunting or fishing whenever possible. Zeke is a member of  Tainui Pig Hunting Club.  He is very passionate about preserving pig hunting in New Zealand for future generations. 

James Corban. James lives on a five acre block in Karangahake Gorge between the Coromandel and the Kaimai Ranges with wife Jackie and son Nelson. Older son Jess has left home. James has been a hunter all his life and first got hooked on pig hunting almost 30 yrs ago. James is the vice president and an inaugural member of the Peninsula Pig Hunting Club as well as a member of the Tokoroa Pig Hunting Club. James has had a lot of good years of hunting.By volunteering some time and travel he hopes to be able to give something back in order for future generations to enjoy the sport of hunting. James believe’s pig hunters need a political voiceas it is important for people to recognize that pig hunting is a way of life and is part of our culture and heritage.

Married to Janice with two grown up sons. Started pig hunting in 1990.

In April 2002 he wrote his first pig hunting article for the New Zealand Pig Hunter magazine since then he has been writing for the New Zealand Outdoor mag and is currently writing for the Hooked on Boars Mag.

• 2005 Started his own business, Mainland Boar Hunting Ltd.
• 2006 Released his first pig hunting DVD and have released another 3 since.
• 2007 Bill and his wife purchased a 135 acre block of land to set up as a facility for hunters to bring their dogs for some extra training.
• 2009 Started attending Ashburton Toastmasters of which he is currently the president.

Grew up in Rotorua running arounds its bush, lakes and rivers like a normal kid before technology took over the world. Moved to the Coromandel Peninsula in 2006 to work as a builder in a semi remote community. Currently still working as a qualified builder.

Never had a direct family link to hunting, but always had an addiction to the outdoors and had the first opportunity to go hunting at age 8. Since then I have never looked back. Enjoys all different types of hunting from birds to deer and of course pigs. Due to a passion for dogs, becoming a pig hunter was inevitable. I have had the opportunity to hunt and learn from many well established hunters over the years. After learning to hunt deer in the 90’s into the 2000’s I saw what over hunting could do to animal numbers. And strive to educate the issue of sustainability of all game animals and the environments they live in, to keep the whole ecosystem in balance. Healthy bush and healthy animal numbers and the condition of the animals is of extreme importance.

A member of the Tokoroa Pig Hunting Club and Whitianga Pig Hunting Club. Have been the Whitianga Pig Hunting Club’s Treasurer since 2012 and 7 of those years was also its secretary. Also A member of the focal shooting club holding positions as a Range and Safety Officer.

I Joined the NZPHA as I want the hunters to have a nationa[ voice, to be heard and represented at a national level. Humans have survived hundreds of years from the meat we hunted and I am going to make sure that we still will, for years to come.

I am an Ex builder from Wellington. In 2011 I changed careers to become a Dairy Farmer in Taranaki. I have been based in Southland since 2013. I Contract Milk 1400 cows with wife Emma and Have two sons Henry and Frank.

I have been a passionate outdoorsman and avid Pig Hunter from a young age, who also loves fishing and now my sons are getting to an age where I can enjoy it all with them. I have previously been the President of the Southern Pig Hunting club for 7 years.

Born and bred in the Bay of Plenty, I now live in Taranaki and am a member of the Tainui Pig Hunting Club.
I got into hunting later in life and have become passionate about building confidence in women, whether they come from a hunting background or not. You don’t need to grow up in the bush to be able to hunt, you just need the guts to start.
